Worker / Labourer

Scope:
Perform a wide variety of construction-related activities, varying in complexity from very easy to
extremely difficult and hazardous, during all phases of construction.

1. Working with or making things with wood or steel in the construction, installation or repair of structures or components of structures

2. Preparing site and building layouts

3. Framing structures

4. Applying interior and exterior finishes

Tasks, Activities, Requirements:
When practising or otherwise carrying out work, the following tasks, activities, and requirements include but are not limited to:

1. Be reliable and self-driven.

2. Pride in your work

3. Dependable and have a can-do-attitude

4. A strong work ethic

5. Capable of working cooperatively with others

6. Willing to work extra hours if required

7. Willing to travel

8. Able to work at heights

9. Work in adverse weather conditions year round

10. Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction projects

11. Ability to lift 100+ pounds frequently

12. Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards, general housekeeping

13. Load or unload building materials to be used in construction, including steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed

14. Build or take apart bracing, scaffolding, and temporary structures

15. Assemble and erect prefabricated metal structures

16. Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction

17. Operate hand and power tools of all types

18. Assemble rigging (beam clamp, slings) to move materials

19. Align and bolt steel units in place

20. Apply caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns

21. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of materials

22. Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers

23. Carry tools and materials

Safety Responsibilities:
– To read, understand and comply with safety policies, safe work practices, procedures, rules, and legislated
requirements.

– To wear the safety equipment and personal protective devices and clothing required by legislation and their employer.

– To notify supervisor(s) of any unsafe conditions or acts that may be of danger to other workers or themselves

– To report all accidents to their supervisor(s) as soon as possible

– To take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of other workers and themselves

Estimator


Scope:
To compile and analyze information about the materials and labour need for a project. This
includes collecting estimates from subcontractors, preparing detailed reports for clients, informing clients of safety regulations, building codes, and other applicable laws. This position provides knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions.

Reports to:
This role reports directly to the Director of Construction.

Tasks, Activities, Requirements:
When practising or otherwise carrying out work, the following tasks, activities, and requirements include but are not limited to:

8. Ability to act quickly and decisively in emergencies.

9. Ability to coordinate several major activities at once, while analyzing and resolving specific
problems, is essential, as is an understanding of engineering, architectural, and other
construction drawings.

10. Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural schematics and specifications to lay out the work.

11. Willing to work extra hours if required.

12. Willing to travel to various work sites to analyze blueprints and plans.

13. Analyze labour, material, and time requirements for a project.

14. Estimate costs by looking at the entire project.

15. Input cost data into company database.

16. Notice differences between estimated cost and the actual cost.

17. Look at customer requirements for a project.

18. Work with the project management team to prepare proposals.

19. Building relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.).

20. Gather firsthand information from sites, warehouses, or other venues.

21. Perform risk analysis.

22. Recording and comparing bids and quotes from multiple subcontractors and/or vendors

23. Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times, etc.

24. Create and submit estimate reports or bids.

25. Preparing changes to costs estimates when customers change their plans, or when the
availability of materials or labour changes.

26. Preparing schedules for construction progress to let customers know how long projects will
take.

27. Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.

28. Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.

29. Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call
reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

30. Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.

31. Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive
developments.

32. Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.

33. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

34. Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.

35. Creating bills and invoices, and receiving payments form customers.

Safety Responsibilities:
– To read, understand, know, and apply Elevate Construction Partners Inc. health and safety
policies, safe work practices, procedures, rules, and legislated OH&S requirements.

– To ensure that all workers are educated to work in a safe manner and that they use protective devices and procedures required by Elevate Construction Partners Inc. and by legislation to protect their health and safety.

– To warn all workers of any potential or actual dangers and to advise them on how to isolate,
prevent, or remove such dangers.

– To report all incidents immediately, to investigate all accidents fully, and to advise management on how to prevent similar incidents in the future.

– To take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of other workers and themselves.

4. An energetic, confident self-starter, with a strong work ethic.

5. Capable of working cooperatively with others.

6. Flexible, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

8. Good muscular coordination, agility, and balance.

9. Establish a good working relationship with many different people, including other foremen, all
trades persons, supervisors, and labourers.

10. Ability to act quickly and decisively in emergencies.

problems, is essential, as is an understanding of engineering, architectural, and other
construction drawings.

prevent, or remove such dangers.

– To arrange for medical treatments as required, in case of injury or illness including
transportation to a doctor or hospital, as necessary.

– To report all incidents immediately, to investigate all accidents fully, and to advise management
on how to prevent similar incidents in the future.

– To carry out regular inspections of the workplace (processes, equipment, vehicles, etc.) to
ensure a safe and healthy environment.

– To take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of other workers and themselves.
